So I submitted my claim to the Small Claims Court in July and finally today (Oct 8th) Ryanair’s legal eagles have responded as below – summary – they reject my claim and will defend it. Here is the full response. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our client has instructed us to defend this claim as Both passengers on the booking had purchased PLUS Fare, which includes 1 small cabin bag and 1x20kg checked-in bag, on both outbound and inbound flights. On the outbound flight the pax XXX XXXXXX checked-in 2 bags, one weighing 7kg and the other 10kg; as the PLUS Fare only entitled him to check in 1 bag up to 20kg he was correctly charged a baggage fee (BBG1) for the additional bag as he had exceeded the allowance permitted in his ticket. On the outbound flight the second pax did not check-in a bag, however on the return flight both pax had checked-in one 20kg bag each in accordance with the allowance included in their respective fees. The charge incurred by XXX XXXXXX on the outbound sector appears to be correct and aligns with the fare conditions.<\/em>“<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I responded to the court thanking them for their assistance and stating that I look forward to meeting Ryanair’s legal team in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
